FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
OUR FAQS ANSWERED
We take great pride in fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances positive experiences. To ensure your comfort, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most commonly asked questions regarding physical therapy.
WHAT IS PHYSICAL THERAPY?
Physical therapy is a healthcare practice that helps people move better, reduce pain, and recover from injuries through exercises, hands-on care, and education—without using surgery or medication. Licensed physical therapists are the experts who assess movement problems and create personalized treatment plans to help people regain strength, mobility, and function after injury or illness.
HOW FREQUENTLY WILL I NEED TO GO TO PHYSICAL THERAPY ?
The frequency of physical therapy appointments depends on your diagnosis and your physician’s recommendation. A typical care plan for physical therapy includes three appointments per week.
HOW LONG IS AN APPOINTMENT?
A physical therapy appointment generally lasts 45-50 minutes per session. Initial appointments include one-on-one evaluation with the therapist. Follow-up sessions focus more on exercises and treatment based on your progress.
WHAT DO I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow you to move easily. Athletic wear like t-shirts, shorts, or leggings is ideal. Choose clothing that lets the therapist easily access the area being treated. Also, wear supportive shoes, such as sneakers.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
At your first visit, your physical therapist will conduct an initial evaluation, talk with you about your care plan, and set goals. Treatment may include exercises, hands-on techniques to reduce pain and improve movement, use of modalities like electrical stimulation, heat, or ice, and education with a home exercise program. During this appointment, your therapist will also decide how often and how long your treatment will last.
DO YOU ACCEPT MY HEALTH INSURANCE?
We accept most major insurance providers, including Aetna, Ambetter, Anthem BCBS (most state plans), Humana, Medicare, Medicaid, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Sonder. Coverage will be confirmed when we verify your specific plan. Some plans may be out of network—please ask us. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash and credit card payments.
WHAT TO BRING FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
For your first visit, please bring your physician referral or prescription (if needed), insurance card, registration forms, ID, and any payment required. You may also want to bring a change of clothes.
WHAT IF I NEED TRANSLATION?
We do not have interpreters on staff, but we’re happy to accommodate for your appointment. Please let us know in advance if you require translation so we can make the necessary arrangements. Our staff also speaks several different languages, and if needed, we can use online translation tools to assist you.
HOW CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
You can submit a patient questionnaire online. Please bring your physician’s referral to your first appointment if you have one. If not, don’t worry—we’ll coordinate with your doctor to get it. You can reach us by phone at 470-550-1271 or 678-771-5015, email us at info@fitinmotion.us, or contact us on Kakao Talk.
